This blog is for dialogue on the issue of women in ministry and the freedom for women to teach the bible in a public setting. It is also for questions and answers on our DVD entitled "Women in Ministry: Silenced or Set Free?" This 4 DVD set answers the hard passages of scripture that seem to restrict women's ministry.

not sure where to put this, but you should take a gander at Burleson's Friday entry on his blog. He quotes Cindy Kunsman's complaints about Patterson, Ware and others. Good stuff.

Another very helpful web page is www.DoesGodReallyPreferMen.com where you can request a great ebook called "Does God really prefer Men?" This ebook is especially helpful in establishing the base of an egalitarian marriage. I also found her exegesis on some of the hard passages of scriptures to be very akin to my own finding in scripture. Leslie Johnson writes that this is because we have the same Dad, the same Savior and we are filled with the same Holy Spirit. I heartily agree! For those of you who are especially looking for resources on marriage, make sure to request this free e-book from Gary and Leslie Johnson.

www.instone-brewer.com is a great site for info on marriage and divorce in 1st century perspectives. He also has visual sermons he posts which are quite good.

It is useful to know that the ESV and HCSB translations were done in a hierarchical assumption and that TNIV and NRSV were done in a gender accurate way. When you compare these you can often discern concerns (as in potential weaknesses of their position) of the hierarchicalists by reverse engineering the way they choose to translate some verses as they want to make it simple for the reader to agree with them.

Mom, you might want to add these links to your sidebar. If so, just add them under a new category (perhaps called "Research") and they will show up after your "Product->Purchase DVD" link.
